Our family vacation this year started out at Janae's family reunion at Bear Lake. We left a day early and went and set up our camp Thursday. On Friday we met up with my parents and sisters and their families and went to Minetonka Cave. It was nice and cool inside the cave thank goodness because there was 888 steps roundtrip! The kids all liked it and so did Jay and I, but we were glad we had a lot of family there to help tote our kids around.
We went back to camp and helped everyone set up their tents and trailers. We had a great campsite and could walk right down to the water so later that evening Jay and I went down to the lake and played with all the kids in the water. Jay was able to walk about 200 yards or more out in the water and still be able to touch. I was pretty fun.
The next morning we took our boat and my dad's boat down to the lake and played on the water. Jay tried knee boarding and Bridger and Macie rode in Grandpa's tube and we all jumped in the water and swam around. Bridger is turning in the quite the little swimmer. He would swim back and forth between the two boats and loved every minute he could get in the water.
After a day in the water Jay and I came back to camp sunburnt...atleast we take good care of our kids. None of them got burnt at all. We didn't sleep very well with our sunburn and our matress would go flat around 5:00am so when the reunion was over we opted to stay in a hotel that night and then continue on with our vacation the next morning. We enjoyed our showers and the air conditioning. I was able to do some laundry. And we all had a great night sleep. On Monday morning we continued on the road to Flamming Gorge for the remainder of our vacation. We met up with Jay's brother and his little boy and loaded everything in our boat and set off in the water to find our camp site just a few miles away. The only way to reach the camp ground was by boat. We headed off in the right direction, then took a wrong turn and about 45 minutes later we made it to our camp site. We were happy to see that the camp host had a four wheeler with a trailer to haul all our things up to our camp ground. We set up camp, and then went out for another boat ride to find a place to gas the boat up.
The next moring we rode around in the boat and Jay knee boarded along with his brother and his little boy. Even Bridger tried out the knee board. He had a lot of fun but still thinks just floating in the water with his life jacket is the way to go.
We think Macie had fun, but every night she would ask to go home. Now that we are home she asks every day to go on the boat. She got in the water at Bear Lake, but not at Flamming Gorge...but neither did I, so she just hung out with me and Emy. We would put our feet in, but never jumped in. It seemed too cold. Both Macie and Emy enjoyed taking a daily nap on the boat and going to bed early. I think they both loved being able to eat lots of chips and fruit snacks. I figured we were on vacation, so why get after them for eating what they love!
One night the girls had fun playing with the garbage...it was tied up on the awning to keep animals away. The girls would hit it and it would go around in circles and they would giggle and do it again. This kept them entertained for several minutes.
By Wednesday I was ready to come home and Jay agreed. We packed up and drove the six hours home stopping in Bear Lake for a famous raspberry shake. The kids did great on vacation and in the car. They had their moments, but they are still little. We are pretty much back to normal and contemplating when to go camping again.

I have been waiting for you to post about your vacation. We had heard from Kirk that it was a fun place to camp. I am glad you had fun and hope your sunburns are getting better--you are probably at the peeling stage huh??
